Pearl Girl is 11 audio episodes and 35-minute full episode. We have produced an ebook. We want to match that new identity. - Features Differentiating Pearl Girl
An original story by Steve Teare. The pearl symbolizes ‘genius in obscurity’, – by allusion to the pearl hidden inside its oyster. It’s identified as the human soul. It’s born from pain.
Pearl Girl is a story about trauma recovery masked in classic fairytale style. All fairytales are about healing childhood trauma. Psychodrama.

The hero, Blue, is cursed with memory loss. His only clue is a magical poem. It contains the secret to free him from the curse.
The annual traveling circus comes to Trizzle. A girl hidden in a circus carts advises him not to attend. Her voice seems familiar. He decides to visit the circus.

Blue goes to the circus. He over hears a conversation between two men about the new freak Pearl Girl. She is covered by pearl necklaces formed from her own tears. She can’t get rid of them because they are cursed. Blue goes with the crowd to see Pearl Girl. People make fun of her. He sees a magic pearl formed when she cries. Blue chastises and shames the bullying crowd. He asks if he can speak with her. She says he should leave. She agrees to talk with him later. She doesn’t show up at their meeting place.

In the forest night, Blue lies near his small campfire. A two-headed boy visits him from the circus. They want to know where Pearl Girl is. They figure he kidnapped her. He’s surprised. He explains he thinks Pearl Girl’s tears might bring back his memory. He tells about the poem and how tears are poison to witches. He tells them he thinks kisses will change the pearls back to tears. Blue feels thwarted. He wonders if he could love Pearl Girl. He falls asleep.

The witch enters. Blue kisses Ophelia.The kiss explodes pearls in a flood of tears on the floor. The witch threatens Pearl but Blue say he should die first. When the witch steps towards him, she is transformed by the tears into a small bird. Blue then faints from exhaustion.

Ophelia kisses Blue but one pearl still remains. Instead, it glows brighter. Both curses are lifted. They happily marry.
